So, I'm currently in Galway. Nabbed Dave's laptop, and he's probably watching as I type this.. For the record, I absolutely hate this keyboard! It's noisy! And clicky! And shiney! And awkward! I miss my Vaio =(.
Anyhow! I survived the Christmas rush from work, and escaped the New Years nightmare. Yeah, good one, huh? They're pretty much fooked tomorrow night though. Sucks to be them. Christmas was pretty fun though. It was Oran's first, and he pretty much hated it. The presents, noise and blistering heat from the kitchen got too much for him, so he spent the day in the corner in his cradle sleeping. Lucky yolk! I, on the other hand, didn't hate it for a change. We spent it at home for the first time in 3 years. Absolute bliss! Waking up in my own bed, and not on a sofa makes all the difference. And then being able to wonder around in your jammies until noon with the cat following you without you feeling awkward is even better. And dinner, don't get me started on dinner. The previous years haven't been awful, but average. But this year, wow! Does that woman know how to baste and cook a turkey. Sam that is, not Nigella Lawson, she can go hang out with her Ostrich neck in her freezer for all I care, her tip for roasties was shite! Nice spiced gravy though =P. I finished the night off completely nerding it up with a Harry Potter marathon coupled with tea and a handful of Roses. Was wonderful! Oh and ol' Lampy was also there too, keeping my feet warm as he does.
Speaking of Lampy, he is no longer a lamp. Back to being an ordinary self harming fool! I've had to clip his claws to stop him tearing literal lumps off his ears. He's quite cross about it, but sure, he didn't use them for anything else, so he'll get over it. Bright side! No more self harming looking scars on my hands from when he gets over excited about a piece of string. It's the little things.
I'm using the new Blogger layout. It's kind of odd, but in the nice warm fuzzing feeling (Not the one when a 4 week old cat mercilessly decides to pee on you, the other, more happier one. Unless you're into that kinda shizz, and if so who am I to judge?! ) I was hoping it'd work on my phone, so I could actually do this from my phone whilst on the train, practically alone, this evening. But alas, it did not work, I could only go as far as filling in the title and I'm pretty sure there's a character limit on that.
Well, anyhoo! I'm spending the first New Years out in 3 years! I worked last year, and the year before that I was broke. It'll be spent in Galway, as you may have guessed, and hopefully it'll be a swell old night. =D.
See you in 2012! Happy holidays folks! =D.

It's Christmas...

So, it's technically Christmas, and according to that online Santa tracker, and the presents at the end of the kids bed, Santa has already visited Ireland.
Is it just me, or does Christmas seem to lose all it's magic the older you get? It's like there's a point in life when Christmas isn't that whole important mega exciting day, and turns into another excuse to get off-your-trolley-intoxicated. Christmas, it seems, is for children, or people with children. Living with both, when neither are my parents or siblings, this has become quite apparent, especially with a new baby in the house. There has been a massive hype to the entire event, just to keep the kids happy, and at that innocent Santa believing stage.
I remember being at that stage, trying to stay up all night to catch that amazing glimpse of Santa, but eventually drifting off, only to wake up to a stack of presents, and that tiny bit of disappointment that you couldn't hold out that extra hour to see the big man. We never did the dad dressing up as Santa in my house, and to be honest, he was the same person every year until I was too old to have a Santa sack at the end of my bed; my grandmother. And to be honest, she was the best Santa ever. (She was also the Toothfairy, but that's a story for another sleepless night.)
I, like no doubt many others, have had really really shit Christmas'. Most of them in the latter years of my life on account of being old enough to understand the strain it puts on parents, the pressure to get their kids everything they want for that all important day. And being one of, at the time, seven children, there was a lot of pressure and stress around the holidays in my house. Often resulting in my forfeiting my gifts so others could get what they wanted. Not that I'm complaining. I didn't mind doing it. I guess the point I'm trying to make, through all this rambling, is that, why do people put themselves through so much stress and worry over one day of the year; decorating the house, having the perfect dinner, giving/getting everything you asked for? Why would, no should, this day (Taking all religious and other factors out, and focusing on the materialistic side) be any different to any other day?
Now, I'm not being all "Bah! Humbug!" about it all. I fact, I love Christmas! I love the tree, the food, the colours, the excitement and enjoyment that surrounds it. But why can't we, as people, put as much effort into our regular days as we do for Christmas?
Maybe I'm being an overthinker again. Possibly due to the lack of sleep, and insane night at work (Hello! Who eats pizza on Christmas Eve?! Well, appArently all of this town do!). Anyway, I'm just going to finish my hot chocolate, with the silly lamp cat lying beside me then sleep. I see a 5 am wake up call on the horizon, and it's covered in Ben 10 wrapping paper!

College College College!
So, today in college I will appear on the TV's all over the campus. Why you may ask. Well, because we recently filmed some short web series promos, and the surprise was that you, the public, get to vote for which one goes into production after Christmas. The promos are also online here http://www.facebook.com/pages/ITC-Web-Series/256354544418134 if you wanna have a look see at them all yourselves.
I'm slightly nervous about them going so live. I wouldn't be if I didn't star in one, and was just entirely behind the camera. But what can you do, it's filmed, edited, and ready to go. I'll just hide my face for the next while until everyone forgets. Hopefully they all will =P.
In other newsies, I brought Ju-face out for a walk yesterday. Nothing uncommon about that, I know. Sure people walk their dogs all the time. Except this time, it was with a difference! He was wearing an XL people high-vis vest! Yes, you read that correctly. I spent ages trying to find a dog version for him, but none were big enough. At all. He's just too big! =(. And scarily enough, the people vest fitted him PERFECTLY! I wanted to get a picture of him standing on his hind paws with his front ones resting on the roof of his kennel, as he normally does, so he'd look like people. But he was just so happy and excited he wouldn't do it. Maybe another day after he's more accustomed to wearing it.
Anyhow, I should really be doing some work, or something, y'know. Like college stuff. Cos I'm there. And I do have another exam next week. I just couldn't be bothered though. To the internets! XD.

Three Weeks to Christmas! o.O
So, I was told today in work, that there are three weeks until Christmas. That is quite terrifying, as I still have most of my important people presents to buy. Que screaming uncontrollably for 2 minutes ..... And done!
In other news, there are people who live up the road from me with their house completely decorated already! What's with that?! I mean, c'mon! It's three weeks until Christmas! What are ya at at all at all? But really, can I talk? Seeing as I was blaring Christmas carols in the middle of the college canteen at the end of November? True,it was mostly done to annoy some of my friends, but secretly, I quite enjoyed regaling in the old classics. Am I just being a bah humbug, because I really can't get what I want for Christmas? Maybe I should just cheer up, and be thankful for what and who I have, and that Christmas is just one day I have to be away from them.
I suppose, I wouldn't be like this if I didn't have to work Christmas Eve, and possibly New Years. (Yeah, I work in a shit place). Or maybe, just maybe, I'm like this because my tea is cold.
Screw it, who knows...

To Scotland and back, and to never return again!
I'm waiting for episode seven of The Walking Dead to finish buffering, quite patiently actually, because I don't want it to end, and then have to wait until February to watch the next one. Silly American's and their silly T.V ways! I haven't posted in a wee while, and thought I'd kill some time, and amend that now.
So, we went to Scotland, Glasgow. And to be honest, I never want to go back. The whole city seems to dirty, and dank and depressing! I never felt so homesick in my life! And I'm British! I just wanted to get back to Ireland after the first day. And I had another three to go! The company wasn't exeedly exciting either! A tired, stressed and grumpy boyfriend, and his chick-whipped pal!
Our first night was spent eating and catching up on sleep, as we were up most of night having travelled from Galway at 3am in order to catch our flight from Dublin. We're never going to do that again either!
The second day we were there was the day of the competition, so himself was slightly nervous, even if he wouldn't admit it, and Mr. Whipped was grouchy and tired. I felt like I was babysitting! It was an early start all around, again. Getting up at 7am to get to the stadium (yes, it was held in a stadium!) at 8ish for weigh in, and gear check. We had to wait around for each lift, which I didn't mind, because it meant I could watch the chicks lift (That sounds kinda pervy, but it was just because I was so impressed by them! Some 50 year old deadlifted over 100kg! That's mental!) and then perv on the guys in his category while waiting for him to lift. ;).
Mr. Whipped was becoming quite agitated towards the end, and started pestering me for the use of my camera. I gave in. He took ass shots. And a lot of them. I really was babysitting. I eventually sent him away to get a cookie and coffee. Just for a moments peace!
Overall, he placed in the top three of his category, to which I am extremely proud of him! Next year we're off to Boston. And alone this time.
The Sunday after the comp, we bummed around the hotel a lot. We were tired, and just wanted to go home at that stage. We were both missing Ireland (I never thought I'd ever admit to that, but yes, I missed Ireland.) and home in general. Mostly a nice cooked home made meal which we didn't have to hunt down. We did go to a museum, and went to an AC/DC exhibit, accompanied by Mr. Whipped of course. It was nice, and interesting, and I totally fangirled over a tiny scrap of paper with Alice Cooper's name on, but what are you gona do?!
The day we flew home was freezing! Out flight wasn't until 6pm, and we had to get out of the hotel at 11am, which meant wandering around town for an age. It sucked. There was nothing really there to see. I missed the streets of Dublin, and Galway, and believe it or not, even the streets of Carlow and Athy! Just anything of home! I just wanted to get back there. Thankfully, when we got back to Dublin, Sam agreed to pick us up, and we left Mr. Whipped to get his bus back to Galway. She even brought us to Tesco, and Symths! And I got to interact with Irish people again! When we got home, I even rang up work, and ordered pizza! It was so thrilling to just be home, away from that horrible place! And sleeping in my own bed was just bliss. I didn't realise how much I missed it until I sank into it that night.
So, I'll not be going back to Glasgow any time soon, that's for sure. And anyway, our next British adventure has already begun it's planning. We're appArently going to London for a week. We'll see how that goes. At least in London I'll be closer to home-home (in a sense).
To end on a light note, the guy on reception when we checked in was exceedingly helpful, and had one of the most impressive moustaches I have ever seen. Congratualtions on your facial hair, good sir!

Ahhh! Three Weeks! XD
I get to go to Glasgow in three weeks and a bit! SO DAMN EXCITED!! I have to buy new wooly socks, and scarves and jumpers, 'cause it'll be FREEZING there, but I cannot wait!
I should really tell you why I'm going. It's for The World Powerlifting Champs. Yeah, I'm so cool that I know a Powerlifter =P. Spending three nights there, so should be a whole heap of funsies. =D. But I haven't told college tht I'll be missing a possible three days, so shush, k?
Yes, that's right, college has started. And I'm lovin' it! Seventeen hours a week of funness! #winning! Modules include studio, documentary film making, digital media technolgy and production management. And they're all pretty good. =). ANNNND! I should hopefully be moving to Carlow by the end of this year, or even early next year. Things are looking up.
So not much has really happened since I blogged YONKS ago! Just working and colleging it all up. I'm currently sitting here procrastonating so I don't have to type up my college notes, which I really should! But the tea is too tasty, and my bag is too far away to reach. It can wait until tomorrow. It's also too cold to be thinking about something like that. I need warm happy thoughts, like unicorns, and flower fairies =).
I've actually been considering Vlogging over the past few weeks. It's going to be an assignment for Doc. Film Making, but also, I've been watching a few, and it seems like fun. So it all depends if I can find time to do it, because honestly, I lead a fairly busy life between work, college, and livin' it up at home. Especially now there's a new baby in the house. Little Oran, he's two and a half weeks old, and frikken adorable! XD. Even if he did pee all over me tonight while we were having cuddles. Damn nappy being on wrong >.<
Anyhoo! Not much more to say. 'Cept that I got my new camera! Nikon D90 baby! And I love it so damn much! Even more because it used to be my grandaddy's camera, so it's supra special! SUPRA!
Guess I'll go type up notes and learn stuff now.
Until next time,
Keep eating those banana's!

First Post! o.O
Was very tempted to just leave this as "This has been a post, good day!" But I won't do that to you.
So, this is my second personal blog. My first was started last summer, but I forgot about it fairly quickly. So, I thought out with the old and in with the new and start a fresh =).
I thought I'd make my first post all about me, but there's not really much to tell you that isn't in my profile. Alas, I'll try!
I'm a third year Tv&Media student attending I.T Carlow. The new college term has yet to start, and it is highly anticipated. The summer has been far too long! I'm a slightly crazy cat lady, to the extent where the neighbours cats follow me home when I walk back from work in the evenings. I'm one of eight children. I have five sisters and three brothers. Ages range from 22 to 1, me at 20 being the second eldest. I have no contact with them, so don't expect to hear anything about them, or my parents.
I'll try really hard not to use this blog to moan and complain about things, but instead to talk about interesting things that have happened during my day, or those spontaneous thoughts/daydreams I often get. I will probably falter and complain sometimes, but sure, give my a break; I am a chick after all =P.
Can't think of much else to say about me... Ah well, if you wanted to know anymore, you can just ask as a comment or whatever. =).
I'll try and upload pictures with most of my posts. It'll motivate me to take some new ones. Not that I'll need much motivation when my new camera arrives in two weeks! =D. Also, at the end of every post I'll leave the link to my Twitter account (if I remember). Givus a follow if you feel you need more urgent minutely updates of my life!* I have a Tumblr account but don't use it too much, if I start to use it again, I'll also give you a link to it =).
So that's about it really. I'll try and update regularly, but forgive me if I don't. Laters =).
*Disclaimer: I don't do minutely Twitter updates, you'd be lucky to get one every hour, let alone day =P.
So, this is my second personal blog. My first was started last summer, but I forgot about it fairly quickly. So, I thought out with the old and in with the new and start a fresh =).
I thought I'd make my first post all about me, but there's not really much to tell you that isn't in my profile. Alas, I'll try!
